The Garden of Joy:

The Garden of Joy is a traditional jazz band from New Orleans run by guitarist and banjoist, Hunter Burgamy (also featured on the Sheepshead Serenaders album). The Garden of Joy showcases an impressive cast of some of the most skilled musicians in early New Orleans style jazz. Matt performs on several tracks of the band’s debut album, including its title track, “Bouncin’ Around”.

The Chris Christy Band

Matt currently plays 4 days a week on Frenchmen street in New Orleans with Chris Christy’s band (every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 2-6pm at the Spotted Cat Music Club, and Sunday 9-12pm at the Royal Frenchmen Hotel). This group plays a lot of jazz repertoire, but it is primarily focused on performing Chris Christy’s original music. The band recently recorded an album that is in the mixing/mastering process and is set to be released in Fall of 2023. Chris’s solo original music can be heard here:
